The Scioto Valley Rugby Football Club is a premier rugby team comprised of experienced and new players to the game of rugby. Our team is looking to add new players to our roster to continue our tradition of having fun while winning. If you like a great workout and would like to try a new sport, this is the club for you!
We are looking for serious Division I (A-Side) and development squad (B and C-Side) players who would like to play in games requiring different levels of skill. Fall 2010, our B-side competes in the D-III division with its own schedule, so players will be guaranteed full matches. The C-side will join the A-side for its D-I second-side matches.
Weather & daylight permitting in the spring and fall, our (15's) practices are held every Tuesday and Thursday evening starting at 6:00 at the back of RHODES PARK at I-70 and WEST BROAD ST, just west of downtown Columbus.
If you would like to participate in 7's style touch rugby, which requires nothing more than a pair of soft-molded cleats, we practice and play 7's on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the summer, 6:00 until 8:00. This is probably the best way for any beginning rugby player to get hands-on experience passing the ball and learning good rugby defense. Refer to our message board for any changes in this schedule.
Home matches are scheduled for Saturday's at 1:00 PM at the back of RHODES PARK. Our regular season competition consists of other club teams in the mid-west.
